background design
THE BLACK CAT is a solid black cat with orange eyes, shown mostly as a silhouette. This design contrasts with Luna's warm colors and makes it easy for him to shape-shift freely in the animation.
Girl uses warm yellow and brown tones to match the heartwarming, happy-ending tone of the animation.
The backgrounds are built entirely from color blocks, with almost no linework. This keeps the characters as the visual focus and prevents the background from stealing attention.
